Self-Acceptance Perempuan Penyintas Kekerasan Seksual Dalam Pacaran
Self-Acceptance among Women Survivors of Sexual Dating Violence
Dengan menerapkan pendekatan fenomenologi, penelitian psikologi kualitatif ini berusaha untuk menyingkapkan gambaran self-acceptance perempuan penyintas kekerasan seksual dalam pacaran. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam semi-terstruktur dengan para responden, yaitu tiga perempuan penyintas kekerasan seksual dalam pacaran. Interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) atas data penelitian memunculkan empat tema besar: a) nilai-nilai yang dianut b) self-acceptance ketika berpacaran, c) faktor dukungan self-acceptance, dan d) self-acceptance setelah putus hubungan. Tema pertama menjelaskan tentang cara pandang responden terkait nilai-nilai keperawanan.Tema kedua merujuk pada gambaran penerimaan diri para responden setelah mengalami kekerasan seksual dalam pacaran. Tema ketiga berkaitan dengan faktor yang mempengaruhi self-acceptance perempuan penyintas kekerasan seksual. Tema keempat menampilkan self-acceptance responden setelah hubungan pacaran berakhir. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa ketika masih berpacaran, responden punya self-acceptance cenderung rendah. Namun, setelah putus hubungan, self-acceptance mereka meningkat. Peningkatan self-acceptance ini disebabkan oleh dukungan sosial dan kemampuan menyelesaikan masalah.

Using the phenomenological approach, this qualitative psychological study aims to describe the self-acceptance among women survivors of sexual dating violence. Data for this study was collected through in-depth, semi-structured interviews with three female survivors of sexual dating violence. The interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) performed on the data elicited 4 key themes: a) adopted values, b) self-acceptance during relationship, c) factors enhancing self-acceptance, d) post-breakup self-acceptance. The first theme explains the perspective of respondents about the value of virginity. The second theme refers to these women’s self-acceptance after experiencing sexual dating violence. The third theme shows the factors contributing to the self-acceptance of women survivors of sexual dating violence. The fourth theme has to do with these women’s post-breakup self-acceptance. The study concludes that during the relationship with the perpetrator, the women had a lower self-acceptance. After breaking up with their abusive partner, they experienced an increase in their self-acceptance, which resulted from social support and acts of problem-solving.
