Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan yaitu menjelaskan bab klasifikiasi emosi tokoh utama, penyebab emosi tokoh utama, problem kejiwaan tokoh yang tumbuh karena emosi, dan sikap tokoh utama setelah menyandang problem kejiwaan dalam novel Mekare Kembang Kecubung. Empat bab tersebut akan diteliti menggunakan kajian psikologI sastra, khususnya teori dari David Krech. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian ini dari salah satu novel karya Sie Erlangga, yang berjudul Mekare Kembang Kecubung. Untuk datanya berupa narasi dan dialog yang ada dalam novel, yang memuat bab klasifikasi emosi, penyebab emosi, problem kejiwaan, dan sikap tokoh utama setelah menyandang problem kejiwaan. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik studi pustaka. Cara peneliti menganalisis data yang ada dalam novel, menggunakan analisis deskriptif, untuk menjelaskan satu persatu. Penelitian tersebut menghasilkan empat bagian, yang pertama mengenai klasifikasi emosi tokoh utama yang masih dibagi menjadi empat, yaitu ada emosi dasar, emosi yang berhubungan dengan stimulasi sensor, emosi yang berhubungan dengan penilaian diri sendir, dan emosi yang berhubungan dengan orang lain. Kedua penyebab emosi, ada penyebab dari tindakan tokoh, yaitu tidak dipercaya suaminya, ditelantarkan, dan interaksi dengan tokoh lain, dan ada penyebab dari pemikiran tokoh utama dan pemikiran dari tokoh lain. Ketiga yaitu problem kejiwaan yang tumbuh karena emosi yaitu ada frustasi, minder, dan khawatir. Keempat ada sikap tokoh utama setelah menyandang problem kejiwaan, dibagi menjadi tiga ada memendam rasa bersalah, yaitu berupaya menjauh dan berupaya menjaga perasaan tokoh lain, dan pasrah terhadap keadaan yang ada, juga berupaya mencintai keluarga.

This research aims to explain the chapter on the classification of the main character's emotions, the causes of the main character's emotions, the character's mental problems that grow because of emotions, and the main character's attitude after experiencing mental problems in the novel Mekare Kembang Kecubung. The four chapters will be researched using literary psychological studies, especially the theory of David Krech. The research method used in this research is qualitative research. The data source for this research is from one of the novels by Sie Erlangga, entitled Mekare Kembang Kecubung. The data is in the form of narrative and dialogue in the novel, which contains chapters on the classification of emotions, causes of emotions, mental problems, and the attitude of the main character after suffering from mental problems. Data collection in this research used literature study techniques. The way researchers analyze the data in the novel, uses descriptive analysis, to explain one by one. This research produced four parts, the first regarding the classification of the main character's emotions which are still divided into four, namely basic emotions, emotions related to sensory stimulation, emotions related to self-assessment, and emotions related to other people. Second, there are emotional causes, there are causes for the character's actions, namely not being trusted by her husband, abandonment, and interactions with other characters, and there are causes for the main character's thoughts and the thoughts of other characters. Third, there are mental problems that grow because of emotions, namely frustration, inferiority and worry. Fourth, there is the attitude of the main character after suffering from mental problems, divided into three, namely harboring feelings of guilt, namely trying to stay away and trying to protect the feelings of other characters, and surrendering to the existing situation, also trying to love the family.
