PENCIPTAAN SENI LUKIS BERBASIS ADAPTASI OBJEK SIMBOLIK FREUDIAN DALAM MIMPI

THE CREATION OF PAINTING BASED ON THE ADAPTATION OF FREUDIAN SYMBOLIC OBJECTS IN DREAMS

Teori objek simbolik yang dibesarkan Sigmund Freud mendasari penciptaan seni lukis pada penelitian penciptaan. Teori tersebut menarik untuk diadaptasi ke dalam penciptaan seni lukis. Ketertarikan bermula dari aktifitas spontan perupa dalam dream journaling berupa catatan deskriptif. Kesadaran akan pengaruh besar mimpi ke dalam kehidupan mental dan eksplorasi mengenai teori objek simbolik Freudian, munculah gagasan penciptaan dengan menjadikan mekanisme objek simbolik dari teori tersebut sebagai metodologis penciptaan karya lukis. Penggunaan warna psikologis yang cenderung cerah pada karya, bertujuan untuk  mewujudkan mekanisme sublimasi mimpi dengan menggambarkan ulang kecemasan, trauma, dan ketakutan dalam mimpi dengan mengubah paradigma tersebut di atas kanvas. Sehingga objek simbolik yang awalnya bersifat personal dapat menjadi representasi universal.  Metode dalam penelitian penciptaan ini menggunakan metode Practice-led Research. Karya yang dihasilkan berupa karya lukis dengan ukuran 100 cm x 120 cm bermedia akrilik di atas kanvas. Dengan penyajian gaya realis secara teknis, perupa memainkan komposisi objek sebagai interes dalam karya penciptaan.

The theory of symbolic objects developed by Sigmund Freud underlies the creation of paintings in this creative research. This theory is compelling to adapt into the process of painting creation. The interest stems from the artist's spontaneous practice of dream journaling in the form of descriptive notes. Driven by an awareness of the profound influence of dreams on mental life and an exploration of Freudian symbolic object theory, a creative concept emerged to utilize the mechanism of symbolic objects as a methodology for painting creation. The use of predominantly bright, psychological colours in the artwork aims to manifest the mechanism of dream sublimation. This is achieved by re-depicting the anxieties, traumas, and fears experienced in dreams, thereby shifting their paradigms onto the canvas. Consequently, symbolic objects that are initially deeply personal can transform into universal representations. The methodology applied in this creative research is Practice-Led Research. The resulting artwork consists of acrylic on canvas paintings measuring 100 cm x 120 cm. Employing a technically realist style, the artist manipulates object composition as the primary focal point of the creative work.
