Pengaruh Variasi Resolusi Input terhadap Performansi pada Deteksi Objek Menggunakan YOLOv8
The Effect of Input Resolution Variations on Performance in Object Detection Using YOLOv8

This study's main objective to analyze the effect of input resolution variation from 160px, 256px, 320px, 480px, and 640px on the performance of the YOLOv8n model in detecting objects on the PASCAL VOC 2007 dataset, evaluated through precision, recall, mAP, F1-score, inference time, and FPS. The research was conducted using Python via Kaggle Notebook, with two data-split ratio scenarios, namely 80:20 and 90:10. The results show that input resolution is directly proportional to accuracy, with mAP at a resolution of 160px reaching 0.48 and increasing to 0.72–0.74 at 640px, but inversely proportional to inference speed, where the FPS value dropped from 1,325 to 371 as resolution increased. A resolution of 480px emerged as the optimal point between accuracy and efficiency, thereby proving that input resolution is a determining parameter in balancing the two.
